We got married in the River Room at Aster in July 2025 and let me tell you all – it was STUNNING. From start to finish, Dawn and Serina were a delight to work with – so collaborative, personable, and supportive. Our bartender, Hannah, was a superstar behind the bar. The kitchen and support staff were killing it – all the food was delicious and the room remained clean yet cozy all night long. Our guests were impressed with the entire event from food, to drinks, to environment, it all went smoothly and exceeded our hopes and expectations. No regrets whatsoever – have your event here!!
The wedding experience for us, and for our guests, was absolutely fantastic at Aster!! We were so glad that we did the ceremony under the Shasta Tent. It made for such an intimate setting (and the florals and decor made it look even more so lovely.) And the River room was a perfect reception space for us, with it’s warm, unique interiors. The food was also absolutely delicious. With an intercultural wedding, we were a bit worried about catering to a wider range of tastes and preferences, but everyone LOVED the food. We still receive compliments on the food—especially the sweet potato empanadas and the Moroccan chicken. It was one of the best days of our lives, and more importantly, our guests had such a good time! We couldn’t be happier. Thanks so much to Serina and the rest of the Aster staff for making the experience so smooth and fun for us.
We got married at the River Room in Fall 2024, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. The venue was stunning on its own, and we barely needed any extra florals or decorations. Our guests raved about the food and drinks, and the chef was incredibly accommodating of all kinds of dietary restrictions. Our venue coordinator, Serina, was an absolute dream to work with! I knew we were in good hands from the initial planning call. She was consistently responsive, detail-oriented, and went above and beyond to answer every question I had. A huge thank you to Serina, Dawn, and the entire Aster team for making our wedding day so effortless and memorable!! We highly recommend the River Room for any event!
We hosted our May 2025 wedding for 140 guests at the Aster, Hall of Kings (HOK). Our goal was to have our reception downtown Minneapolis with a venue that was unique and fit our budget. We chose the HOK venue because we fell in love with the “speak-easy” vibe, the Hepburn and Redford Club rooms for the bride and groom suites, and the beautiful location on St. Anthony Main. All of this, including the food offerings and reasonable price had us sold. I should mention that this was the first venue we looked at and felt no need to look further. We could not have had a better experience and give it a resounding 10 stars! Here is why: The space is unique and beautiful and if you choose, requires little additional décor. The low lit, amber lighting creates an atmosphere all its own. The venue already includes votive candles for the tables and they provide all of the tableware and chairs. Truly a one stop shop. We hosted a live band and the space and acoustics accommodated live music perfectly. For food and drink offerings we chose signature cocktails along with other drink choices, pass-around appetizers, and the taco buffet bar. Our guests raved about the specialty drinks and the food saying it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! As far as the staff goes, we could not have dealt with a more professional, friendly, and accommodating group of people. From the owner, Shane to the venue coordinators, the servers and bartenders, everyone was amazing to work with and it was evident from day one they had one goal which was to ensure our wedding day was perfect. We worked with Serina, the venue coordinator, throughout our planning up until the day of our wedding. She was super easy to work with and always quick to respond to our questions and requests. Dawn, the venue manager, was our initial introduction to the HOK as she hosted a tour of the venue and answered initial contract questions. Dawn was also assigned to manage our wedding day. She was incredible to work with; a true problem solver in every way. Dawn was so invested in making sure we were happy, that our guests were happy, and to ensure everything went smoothly that day – and it did! As you can tell, we cannot say enough about our experience with the HOK; truly a first-class operation. We were so pleased with how everything went that we have taken every opportunity to promote this venue to all of our family and friends. Thank you for making our wedding day the incredibly special day that it was. We are forever fans!
Incredible all around! Dawn helped show us the room and I immediately fell in love with it, and Serina helped us with all steps there on. The room is gorgeous with wood and brick lit with twinkle lights. Great service from the bar, the food was INCREDIBLE, we had a great tasting ahead of time to try the different dishes, just everything was amazing. All my friends keep saying how it’s their favorite spot they’ve been to for a wedding and I’d have to agree. If you want a smooth experience with a beautiful venue, I hightly recommend here!
Excellent experience at Hall of Kings for our wedding! We had 111 guests and felt it was a good size for the space. The staff was responsive and supportive throughout the process. I appreciated how we were able to bring in our own desserts to save on costs there. Our guests raved about how beautiful, classy, and unique the venue is. We had the most amazing day, made extra special by the perfect venue!
